Christmas Lights Bingo Board You can play like a traditional BINGO game, and maybe offer a prize for the first BINGO, or see who can find everything on the board first, or just find everything on the boards together. Use a crayon or even Christmas stickers to mark the board. You could even laminate them to use over and over again! How to Play Christmas Bingo. Give each player 1 Christmas Bingo Card. (If you like, you can also give each player 2 or more cards.) Have everyone cross out the “Free Space” square in the middle of their Christmas Bingo Cards. Alternatively, use a Bingo chip, M&M, bead, Lego, coin or any small toy to mark the square. How to Play Christmas Light Bingo While driving around looking at Christmas lights, or “Christmas Pretties” (what we like to call them), mark off the Christmas lights or decoration in the circle that you find! Each line of 4 (scored vertically, horizontally, or diagonally) counts for 5 points. The entire board is another 5 points.

If you saw my Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt Printable, you will love this twist on it! Our kids are getting older and we wanted to make the annual Christmas light viewing a little harder than the regular scavenger hunt. We came up with this Christmas Lights Bingo Game that will do the trick.

Heading out to look at the Christmas lights is something we have done every year since the kids were small. We still want to make it a tradition while we have the kids here at home with us. They do both look forward to it and since we have incorporated the games as they have gotten older, they love it even more.

We like to have some healthy competition in our house and any time I can come up with games for us to play, we all put our game faces on and get ready to play.

Christmas

We created four different bingo cards to go with this game. They all have the same images on them, but they are all in a different order. We laminated them so we can use dry-erase markers and wipe them off when we get home and use them again next year.

When we head out this year, I will have all of the bingo cards face-down on the table and we will roll a dice to see who gets to pick their card first.

I will put the cards on clip boards so they are easy to mark while we are driving in the car.

Hot cocoa will be served and a side of cookies or another snack will surely be included.

Light

Once we are in the car and say, “start”, the game begins.

As we drive around the neighborhoods to look at lights, each person needs to look for certain things on their bingo card and cross left off as they see them.

The first person to get four in a row needs to tell “bingo” and they win.

You can play this over and over again as people win and as you drive to different neighborhoods.

If your family is anything like ours, tradition is important and so is a little game to make those traditions even more fun.

I would love to know if you give this a try! Print off the FREE bingo cards HERE.

Try our free Christmas Light BINGO as your new winter family tradition! Complete this activity with your own family or send home for the families of your students to enjoy.

Some of our followers who have been with us from the beginning might remember our Curriculum Corner Family site. The goal of the site was to provide some free printables and fun stuff for families. We were never able to give the site much love so while it is still live, it’s also very dated. Our last post to the site was from April of 2015 so it’s been awhile!

One of our most popular posts from back then was our Christmas Light BINGO. When my boys were younger, we would always pick a night in December to drive around and look at Christmas lights. We would get shakes and search for our favorites.

Bingo

At the time, my boys loved the ones that were programmed to music and were a real show. It was such a fun time! They went dressed in pajamas and bundled in blankets.

When we were working on our family site, I came up with the idea for Christmas Light BINGO. It was something fun to add to our traditional night out.

Free

Today you will find lots of options for this game on-line but at the time I created our set, there weren’t others out there.

We took along Christmas stickers and added stickers was we found each thing on the BINGO board. You could also give your kids crayons or pens to mark the board but don’t stickers make everything more fun?

If you want to see the original from 2012, you will still find it here: The Curriculum Corner Family

We’ve remade the game and made it look not so dated. We have created four versions of the board so not all family members have to have the same card. Of course, if it works best for your family to match, that is an option as well.
